When looking for a backdrop for your engagement session, it's important that you choose a location that reflects your personality and the things you love as a couple. Thankfully, Washington D.C. offers pretty much any location you might want in the city or just outside it's boundaries.
If you drive just a short distance from the District of Columbia, you will quickly find yourself in Northern Virginia. This area is a wonderful mix of suburbia, small towns, historic houses, wineries, and quaint farms.
This couple chose one of the many farms near Leesburg for their engagement session. The Farm they chose means a lot to them. They volunteer and spend a lot of their off time outside of D.C. on this farm, taking care of the horses, cows, and other farm animals.
Faith Like A Mustard Seed Farm is a family owned farm, bed & breakfast, and wedding venue located in Lucketts, VA. When I arrived for our session, I was greeted by a friendly goose, a turkey, and a bunch of chickens. I quickly scanned the surrounding farm land and rolling hills and knew this was going to be a beautiful setting for the engagement portraits.
When the couple arrived, we walked down to the pond. I was immediately drawn the the two enormous weeping willow trees. I knew exactly where I wanted to start their session.
This photo was the result. the location is right on the pond close to where they will exchange their vows next October.
