This spring wedding celebration was held at Flora Corner Farm in Mechanicsville, not far from Waldorf, MD and just a short ride from Washington DC. Flora corner Farm is in Southern Maryland and has lots of options for stunning wedding photography. Once a working farm, growing tobacco, the family grows sunflowers, corn, and soybeans in the fields that stretch beyond the farmhouse and barn.
The getting ready suite in the old farmhouse has a living room, dining room, and bedroom along with a bathroom for the use of you and your wedding party. There is also a quaintly decorated waiting area above the barn for the groom and groomsmen.
Outside the farmhouse, the grassy lawn underneath the huge shade trees is one of the multiple ceremonies spaces at the venue. Even on the warmest of days, the trees offer a respite from the Maryland heat. Sunflowers, corn, and soybeans grow in the distance, a backdrop of green and yellow amongst the rolling fields.
If rain threatens your wedding day, a ceremony in the barn in front of the mantle is just as beautiful as the hills. Staff is always on site to make sure everything runs smoothly no matter what situation arrises.
The reception area is in a custom designed yellow barn that is the perfect mix of country decor and rustic elegance. The barn has a patio and lawn area just outside, giving your guests plenty of space to roam and visit with friends and family they haven't seen in years.
Local caterers, such as Rita B. or Mission BBQ, provide your guests with tasty homemade food that will keep your guests happy throughout the evening.
When the evening ends, a popular wedding tradition is the sparkler exit. Your friends and family line the driveway to your getaway vehicle waving the bright sparklers. Be sure to pause for a romantic kiss before you duck into the car and ride away to start your life together.
