Josephine Butler Parks Center Wedding
The first dance is a wedding tradition that never gets old. After 8 years of photographing weddings in the DC Metro area, we have some suggestions to make your first dance memorable and your photos unforgettable.
- Choose a song that means something to you both. Maybe it's the song you heard on your first date or one that is brand new. Find one that speaks to you and your relationship.
- Be in the moment. Whether you choose to make it up as you go along or plan a choreographed number, don't forget it's not about the people watching. Imagine it's just the two of you.
- Cry if you want too. Holding back the tears can make for some pained faces, so just let those tears fall down your cheeks. It's okay. This is the first day of your marriage. Those emotions are going to be high.
- If you don't like being the center of attention, it's okay to choose a shorter song or shorten the first dance. you can also ask your friends and family to come up and join you after the first minute or so.
