Once when people thought of getting married amongst the grapevines, they thought of California. Now you don't have to go that far for your winery wedding. The DC Metro boasts many award winning and scenic vineyards that rival that California look. Here are some of our favorites and why we love photographing them so much.

• Stone Tower Winery is located just outside of Leesburg Virginia. There one of a kind stone wall is the perfect backdrop as you tie the knot in the middle of their award winning grapes. If it rains, they have plenty of beautiful indoor ceremony sites as well.
• Running Hare in Calvert County has brought the feel of the Italian countryside to Southern Maryland. With a ceremony site at the bottom of the rows of vines and with their Tuscan style event space in the background, you'd never know you were just an hour outside of the city.
• Breaux Vineyards is closer to Purcellville, but boasts not only acres of vines, but the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge and Alleghany Moutains.
• Looking for something in the city? District Winery gives you that city look amongst the barrels and bottles. The glass enclosed space with a view of Yards Park and the Anacostia River is a backdrop like none other in the District.
